Makes my daughter cry

This is a horrible toy. My two year old daughter got it as a birthday gift from her godfather, who bought it because of the fantastic reviews. It arrived broken -- one of the paw pad sensors doesn't work unless you squeeze it just right, with two fingers. In the past Fisher Price has given me fantastic service, so I'm sure they'll take care of that problem when I get around to calling.

The really terrible thing about this puppy is that when you hit a sensor, the toy stops whatever it was doing and starts a new thing. The sensors are super sensitive, and will go off if you just brush up against the toy. My daughter wants to hear the songs all the way through, and sing along, but of course she wants to be able to hold or touch the puppy at the same time. So the song stops, then it takes like five tries to cycle around to the song she wants, then she hugs the puppy and the song stops again. After about ten minutes of this she was in tears. I've never see my little girl so distraught -- she's not a kid who gets discouraged or cries much, but she just collapsed into my arms in tears of frustration. I felt awful for her.

Other things I don't like about it:
1. The "this little piggy" chant is turned into "this little puppy," so now my daughter has started saying that, and I prefer the classic rhyme.
2. There's a whole part that says "blue ear," "yellow foot," "green hand," when you hit those body parts. But because it cuts off when you hit the sensors, it can sound like "blue -- foot," when the foot is actually yellow. My daughter repeated "blue foot," and I had to correct her.
3. It says "I love you". I generally don't like inanimate objects saying they love my child.

If Fisher Price just made the slight change of having this puppy complete what he's doing before starting the next activity, we'd probably love it!

I love this puppy. The only complain i have is that it gets too sensitive. As a result of that, we don't always hear the entire song. Otherwise, it's cute and fun to have in the car.

My son loves to play with this toy. He always smiles when he hears it start singing. He is only 5 months old, but he loves playing with it.

Cute and Loveable

My daughter received this for Christmas when she was only 4 months old. She didn't pay him much attention until she hit 6 months. Since then she has grown to like him more everyday. She loves to lay on him and hug him. She thinks it is great that he talks to her when she pays attention to him - if she accidently brushes by him and he talks she will always stop and interact with him. She loves to dance to all of his songs and doesn't seem to mind that he stops or switches songs if she touches him. I would have given him 5 stars only I don't think he is as 'educational' as they make him out to be: He does sing the alphabet, says colors when you touch them and sings a number song (but he never 'really' counts to 10-more like 1 to 9).

Great first Toy!

This puppy was a gift to my daughter when she was three months old. the age suggestions say 6 mos + but she loved the puppy right away. Now when we go to the toy store, everytime she sees the puppy on the shelf her face lights up, she smiles and starts kicking her legs! I usually put it in the car for her to play with. I place it at the edge of her carseat resting on the seat of the car so she can kick it and make it talk/sing/laugh whatever. A really great toy. Beware: you will have kid's songs stuck in your head! Grandma went to be singing "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" the other night!

Great webkinz and fun site but pitiful responses

I like webkinz but my favorite is the turtle. It's a great and safe website but it isn't very educational. About the only thing that really is sort of educational is the Question Corner. You answer questions in different catigories like Math and Social Studies. The Ganz site is very alike to Tamagotchis, Club Penguin, ect. The website claims that they have a "fun educational site for kids" which is true, but not so "educationl". As a typical 10 year old, I do not play with the plush toy. Many young children do though.


The games are pretty fun but if you are a pretty experienced gameplayer, you can tell that they are very alike but the names are different and story. Not to brag, but I am a very experienced game player for a 10-year-old boy. I have seen a lot of games on webkinz that are alike from other game sites.


The typical webkinz is at a ridculous price around 13.00. I am being raised by a froogle mother, so that's just me. Lot's of people would agree with that statement though. Amazon is weird because some are more than others, but the game is really the same. The only difference is the little animal and the "pet exclusive item" and the "pet food". These animated items HARDLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE.


My cousin and his friend also wrote a review saying basicly the same thing. The responses are terrible saying things like " We will do what we can to fix your problem." . They said something like that to my cousin and was angry.

It's Webkinz. What more do you need to know?

Although lately we have found that many of our Webkinz animals come with small holes in the seams (presumably due to missed edges due to fast sewing) they are easy to fix. Webkinz is a very fun program, and they often update features to keep it interesting. Pricey, but addictive fun for kids AND grown ups.

Great Learning Toy

My neice loves to use the computer with the features this toy provides. She also likes the design of this stuffed animal. I think it's great that this toy inspires kids to get comfortable using the computer, which is an obviously important skill they will use their whole life. The kids get excited creating environments for the toys online and have fun choosing items that match the animal. She's using a snowflake theme for this one's online "room".
The only complaint she has is that sometimes it takes a while to get on the site but that could be for a variety of reasons. Overall she is very happy with the Webkinz products.

webkinz penguin: adorible, fun and educational.

I bought this webkinz at a store for my daughter, she had one webkinz before and wanted it because everybody said it was soooo adorible in real life and online. She's had it for about a month now and adores it. When you adopt it online you get a fishcycle, and an ice refregerator.

Webkinz is a wonderful website for kids. It's educational and is almost like having a real pet and some ca-ching in your poket. you set out into a virtual world filled with freinds fun and games. you can buy a garden and fill it with a pool, fruit and vegtable patches and some outdoor fun. I recomend webkinz for any kid who loves to play and learn.

What a great idea. Buy Webkinzs animals and the kids love to go on their site with a code that is on the animal. They can also interact on the site with their actual friends. Hours of healthy computer fun and they can learn a lot. Word games, numbers, checkers, etc. The toy is adorable although they are a little pricy. It's the toy animal of 2008. This one is in high demand!

Adorable Yellow Lab

Those who have been to the Webkinz site know that this Yellow Lab is retired. Those who don't know exactly what a webkinz is.... it's an educational website by Ganz for children (and even some adults) to play and interact with your little pet. The pet comes with a tag that allows you access to the website. You get to play educational games and earn "kinzcash" which allows you to purchase items to decorate a room for your little pet and food to feed it. All in all this webkinz is very durable and ultra plush.

Really Cute!

We gave my granddaughter this little Lab for her birthday. She loves stuffies and it was a great addition to her collection. The dog is soft and cuddly and really has a cute expression and drawing eyes.
We went on the internet and she adopted her (she calls her Lisa) and is truly enjoying all the activities on the site. She already made the dog a bed using the instructions given there. With the interaction on the net she is truly enjoying this new friend. I glad we purchased it for her and I believe she will have hours of love and fun with this one. Nice item.
