great but...

its a very great easel. Wooden is the best. Only issue I had was that one of the metal screws broke! I had to screw in a wooden piece in a different location. I had never seen screws so cheap that they break!

When inserting the paper, you have to push up the chalk bin, insert paper and put the chalk bin down in order to hold the paper - i accidentally figured this out. I wish it was mentioned. Although on the top side, there is nothign to hold the paper down, so its easy to pull it down - not a good idea in the middle of your work. I wish you could put clips on top.

Finally, they don't provide paper roll. Melissa and Doug rolls dont cover the entire width of the easel.

Worst of all, the easel paper shipping costs as much as the paper, which is not available in any stores (I tried all - ToysRUs, Target, Walmart, etc)

Bad Customer Service

I'm not reviewing the product here as much as I ma the company. The thing was slightly damaged out-of-box... getting support from the manufacturer is proving to be quite a challnge. It's a simple problem easily resolved... but their support and assembly instructions are sub-par.

Easle

My daughter is 6 almost 7 and she lovesthis easle. We were a little worried about the size but for now she can still draw on it comfortably. I think she will use this for many years to come

Best Easel

My son received this easel for his second birthday and we all love it. It's very durable, and the size is just right (although my son sometimes stands on a stool to draw or paint). It's heavy enough that it won't move around while he's using it, but light and small enough for us to move it to a different space when needed. The bins are great for storing all of his art supplies--we haven't even filled them all yet. Paint cleans off of the wood very easily with a wet cloth. It does also hold a roll of paper (I think this point is missing from the product description). The only thing missing from this easel is that neither the dry erase nor chalk board is magnetic. But that is a minor complaint. Overall this is fabulous easel and worth every penny.

The hit of All Christmas Gifts

This was the best Christmas gift received by my four year old son. He is very artistic and uses it every day. The bins make a great place to store the paint brushes, markers, pencils, and anything else that he thinks is special. The paper roll holder makes it easy for my son to have paper handy for his art projects no matter what his imagination creates. This is an educational tool. My daughter is also learning to draw stick figures using the dry erase board and she is just itsy bitsy!! 5 stars for sure!!

Question : A good brand art easel for acrylic/oil painter
I mainly use acrylics. I'm looking for an easel that either has a "dip" in it to hold paints and brushes or the ones with metal cups on the sides for brush holding. Price doesn't matter. Know of any nice ones

Answer:
This one best fits your description: http://www.dickblick.com/zz502/90/ However, there are many other solutions for easels besides cups on the sides, and I'd suggest looking at all your options, if you'd like :) I very fond of easels with additions on them for storage, I liked this easel: http://www.dickblick.com/zz516/54/ As you can see it has metal cups, but also other spaces to put things. (Actually I have the even more storage -friendly one, shown here: http://www.dickblick.com/zz516/44/) As far as traditional easiels go: http://www.dickblick.com/zz515/48/ Is a metal one that has a place for supplies/cups, I think this is the "dip" you were talking about. And for french style easels, that are easy to carry: http://www.dickblick.com/zz049/96/ Table easel w/cup on the side: http://www.dickblick.com/zz515/89/ Hope one of these is what you want

Question : Alternate ways to display art when you have limited wall space
We have an open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows facing out to a deck. Hardwood floors. The space is broken only by a two sided fireplace. But between the two of us, we've accumulated quite a bit of art; oils, framed prints, photographic. I want to bring more of it into our main living space, but we have such limited wall space and it's at the far reaches of the room. I've thought of easels or some sort of movable column. It's all just in my imagination at the moment, so I'm not sure of practical applications. Any ideas Thank you.

Answer:
I'm not sure how you will display framed art wtih a limited space, but as for photographs, if you can find room to string some strong wire either horizontally or vertically, you can then attach photograhs with clips of some sort......something along these lines: http://www.curbly.com/alttext/posts/74-Easy-Photo-Wall-on-a-Shoe-s-string-s-wire-Budget
