Extra Expense Involved!!!
I just opened this up to see that you have to pay extra $$ for the shipping and handling o the butterflies. Sorry, but this should be included in the price. I already paid for this and should not have to pay more! I am looking forward to doing this with my daughterm but disappointed that I have to shell out more money to get what I already should have purchased.

i bought this for my 9 yr old niece for her birthday. She was so thrilled with it. Very educational and entertaining!

Great Product - this is my second one
I bought this 3 or 4 years ago for my son. Sent away for the caterpillars and had two delighted kids watching the whole process happen. Each summer this has also been our lightening bug container each night in June and July. We've caught local caterpillars and had varying degrees of success having them turn to butterflies or moths.
My son's preschool and kindergarten class have also borrowed it for a month at a time when they were doing butterfly projects.
So it wore out. Hence we are happily buying another one and will start over with sending away for caterpillars this spring and I'm sure it will house many more creepy crawlies to come.
It is easy to store (folds down and velcro holds together). The zipper is easy to use (both my son and daughter could manage it at 3 1/2. It is way more humane than the plastic bug holders with a magnifying glass because air circulates and temperature is less likely to get hot.
We highly recommend.

AWESOME!
I got this for my then 5 year old daughter. She took it into school as her "show and tell" each week and the kids got to witness a couple of the butterflies hatch. She's never been so excited about a present in her life. She wants another kit for her birthday this year. We'll definitely be doing this again. Great experience and hands on learning.

Snap circuits sc-300
Excellent learning tool! This toy should not be catorgorized as a a toy! The learning value for this "toy" is unbelievable. I'd highly reccommend it anyone. If you are a science teacher, its a great way to teach your student electronics.
Rating :
Fun and educational toy
I have bought versions of Snap Circuits for both my kids. These sets are unique: intriguing, fun, generally easy but with certain 'good' challenges. If you buy the right set for the right age, kids can overcome the challenges and they love the sense of accomplishment! Every activity on the board leads to a small but cool 'product,' like a disk that flies up or a fan that can be turned on and off. Older kids can learn why the circuit of electricity works and doesn't work. There is a very informative booklet. Even the littliest can get the idea that the circult must be connected properly to make electricity. Very nicely made, lots of activities with each set, great booklet. An all-around exceptional toy!

Exceptional Toy for Curious Minds -Young and Old
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. At age 9, she loves science and wanted to know more about electricity and electronics. She and my engineer husband have spent hours together building projects from this kit. The projects start with simple circuits and move on to more complex builds. The kit and instructions are well-designed. The instructions are easy to follow. The parts included in the kit are sturdy and are a "snap" to use. We can't wait to show Snap Circuits to our Science Olympiad Team. We highly recommend this toy!

Decent gift from an uncle
It may be better suited for classroom environments, but it was still well received by my neices. They weren't very interested in _how_ it worked.
Rating :
Wonderful toy...
I echo the chorus... This toy is great. It's so much fun that you don't notice how very educational it is. (I'm learning as much as my children.) Would not hesitate to buy it again.

Great Learning Gift
My son enjoys all the fun things you can do with this kit and it encourages learning how to modify and come up with your own creations.

A lot of use out this toy
I got this for my 9 year old son and he loved it. He spends so much time on it. I also borrow it from him to use at the school with a 5th grader I mentor. He thinks it is cool.

Fun and educational start to electric/electronics
I bought the Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 for my 7 year old grandson for Christmas. It was an instant hit. With only a little adult assistance he dove right in and started making circuits just by looking at the diagrams that are well illustrated in the accompanying instruction book. Though I wanted him to start with the easiest projects first he instead was drawn to those that created motion or sound. The product is very well made and the instructions are clear. While the product is easily mastered for his age, some adult explanations are required if the child is to gain an understanding of the electrical theory behind each experiment. Simple and fun the SC-100 should provide a stimulus for a child's further exploration of electric/electronics.
Rating :
The perfect gift for an intelligent child
I like the concept of an interactive toy that teaches a child the principles of electrical connectivity while they play.
In an era where the most popular toys/children's games focus on virtual scenarios this toy encourages children to physically build a multitude of electric circuits.
I bought this toy as a birthday gift for a multi-lingual 11 year old who is not a native English speaker. It was a huge success.
Rating :
We were very impressed.
My seven year old used this with me at first and soon began doing it herself. She used it for her science fair project. She learned alot and impressed many people with her new understanding of circuits. My only complaint was that the wires that connect the snaps broke within the first week. Everything else seems pretty sturdy. I highly recommend it. Even my three year old can make the light turn on.

Small Coins
This works only for small coins... I had to wait 2 weeks for it to be delivered.
Rating :
Good, for the price
Definitely not the 30x its sold as. But as cheap stocking stuffers for the kids, pretty good. (Their eyesite is great, so 10x, which is what these seem to be, is perfect for them.)
Rating :
Disappointing
I have a 16x loupe. I have been using it for years. When I saw this item with 30x, I ordered three without waiting. 10 days later, after my order I received the loupes and experienced them immadiately. Howewer the result was disappointing. My 16x old loupe was deffinitely magnifying better than 30x. I guess it is maximum 10x compared with my old 16x. All tree loupes are in my drower without being used.
Rating :
Fair
Good for the money. Plus: clear bright LED light. Cons: The magnification info is false. It is more likely 10x insted of 30x after I compared with several other magnifiers I hvae. I am disappointed b/ I already have a good 10x. BTW, the 20x loupe made by the same company is also no better than 10x. Buyer beaware.
Rating :
worth every penny!
Can not verify the 30x, but very clear. Very nice loupe and for the price you can not go wrong!

Mix safe chemicals and watch colors change before your eyes. You'll amaze yourself and your friends as you explore the science behind these truly remarkable reactions.

Awesome fun for the Junior Scientists
Both of my kids ages 8 and 13 loved this kit. We did all the experiments over Christmas Break. Provided a little refresher in reading, science, and vocabulary when they were out of school for a week without any complaints from the kids because they loved it. Fun experiments are easy to do and cool to watch. Definitely recommend it!

A prepatory toy for Ivy League wannabes!
I gave this gift to my two nieces(their fathers are brothers). The opening of the one I witnessed created great interest - actually her father seemed as much interested in it as she did! It brought them together on the project of trying all the experiments....I felt my job had been done! LOL

Great gift for a godchild
I purchased this as a birthday present for my godchild a 7 year old boy. After talking with his parents I found out it was a complete hit and his favorite birthday present by far.

Satisfactory Science
I purchased this kit for my 4 year old daughter. She currently wants to be a "Scientist" when she grows up, so she demanded a "real" science kit. When we opened it and saw it had 3 test tubes she nearly exploded with excitement. "IT IS REAL SCIENCE!" The experiements are very simple, but fun and satisfying. It is a great way to introduce science concepts to young minds. It isn't inquiry-based science because the experiments are structured step by step, but it has sparked enough curiousity that she is starting to ask questions and seek answers without the guidance of a kit, and that is the ultimate success. Excellent purchase.
Rating :
Fun for 6 year old
This set was a hit with my 6 year old granddaughter. She liked all the experiments and was able to perform them with minimal help. It didn't take long for her to go through all of them, though, and she was wishing there were more.

Questions & Answers
Question : What are hobbies and skills for a resume?
I am writing a resume for a hairdressing position, what hobbies and skills would they want to know about?
Answer:
In general, I think when potential employers are inquiring about your hobbies and skills, they're probably looking to see if something there would add to your potential in the applied-for position. I wouldn't list things that aren't true however, just to look better in their eyes. List what you dig. In your case in particular of course, any hobbies you may have that require creativity or a good skill-set would be great to mention. Good luck at your interview(s). :-)

Question : Any ideas for Hobbies for my grandmother to do since my grandfather passed away?
My grandfather had passed away less than a week ago & my grandmother is currently living at the same house but my uncle is taking care of her. She is able to do almost everything, because she is only 63. Does anyone have any ideas for hobbies or crafts for her to do? I am planning on buying her a few hobbies to do. I have came up with a journal, and a puzzle. But I can't think of anything else. IDEAS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks!
Answer:
Hobby is solely personal preferences. It might be a good idea to take her for a trip at a super crafts store. She will find so many types of hobbies to choose from. However, when my mother retired, she chose to join a chorus as her hobby. Don't waste time & money guessing. Ask her or help her. Let she guide you.

Learn how to build websites... there are a lot of skills involved, but are all relatively easy to learn... You will find lots of people comming out of the woodwork wanting you to build a website for them...Aspects needed... The Server to Host Websites (IIS - Windows / apache - linux)Languages to write the websites in (ASP / ASP.net / PHP for Windows, PHP for Linux)Database for storing data (MYSQL is powerful free solution... Oracle and SQLServer cna be more commercial solutions)Domain Registration (I use www.namecheap.com)... that's most of the back end stuff needed.. then the front end stuff is the design aspects... Flash is a good one to learn.. I personally do all of my graphic design in photoshop...but that's not my strong point...

Question : Do you have any unique or interesting hobbies?
I am writing an essay for my English comp class. For the essay i need to interview people about their favorite hobbies.I decided i am going to write a series of short stories for each person interviewed. If anyone would please take the time to contribute a story of their hobby it would be greatly appreciated. You can talk about what got you into your hobby, what you gain from your hobby, how society percieves your hobby, emotional allure, etc. Thank you.
Answer:
Hi Jason,I'm a soap maker, a cold-process soap maker, which means I take fats/oils, water/milk, and lye to make soap. I also use essential oils to scent my soaps, and items such as calendula petals, rose petals, powdered oatmeal, poppy seeds, and cornmeal to give interesting texture and cleansing abilities (exfoliators).I wanted to learn to make soap since I was 15 years old, but since I am a hands-on learner and learn best by watching and doing, I felt a bit out of my league with teaching myself. Then when I was about 38 years old, I came across a book about making home made soaps. I read through this book several times, began to buy and assemble items I would need, and within a couple of months I was making soaps. It is time consuming, can be expensive, and is something that you do not use right away as soap must cure out for several weeks before it is safe to use.I also love the creative outlet that soap making allows me as I can make my own recipes, use other's recipes, modify other's recipes, and experiment with various fats and oils. Soaps can be made from animal fats such as lard and tallow (rendered beef suet) to vegetable and nut oils such as olive, vegetable oil, shortening, sunflower, almond, safflower and corn oils. Shea butter, hemp oil, and jojoba oil, cocoa butter, and coconut oil can also be used. It is a very diverse choice that I have to choose from.I also love to bake and make all kinds of goodies from angel food cakes to gingerbread to homemade marshmallows. I also bake breads of all kinds such as quick breads made from fruits and baking soda to yeast-raised and sourdough breads. I have taught classes on bread making as it is such a fun and satisfying craft. I love to make all kinds of bread, from the tradtional sour doughs to sweet and savory breads. I like to make traditional loaves, braids, bow knots, and even doughnuts and tortillas. I taught myself to make bread when I was 15 years old and have been experimenting with various flours. One is not limited to basic white flour as there is millet, spelt, rye, and amaranth, among others, that can be made into hearty loaves. A good hearty loaf of peasant-style bread is a great gift to take to friends.I buy whole wheat berries and grind my own wheat in a hand-cranked mill that makes the best flour. In this way I get the freshest and most wholesome product with minimal work.I love self-sufficiency and being able to make my own things without relying on others for all of my needs. Being a fiercely independent person, I have taught myself many, many things since I was a young teen. I have many other interests, but these two hobbies are ones I not only enjoy doing for myself and my family, but that I also enjoy teaching to others. There is a great deal of satisfaction in knowing one has made the items that one uses and consumes. And I know the quality of the products that goes into my creations. I can easily buy a bar of soap from the store, but how much better to reach for a bar of organic soap made from a combination of oils of my choosing, with the heady scent of lavender and patchouli to fill my nostrils. Or I might have a bar made from olive oil and nut oils, scented with cinnamon, clove, and orange. The possibilities are endless.

She is legally blind, but can still see to a degree. I want to find ways to keep her spirits up and her mind occupied but don't know what kinds of hobbies or crafts would be easy for her to do?

Question : What kind of hobbies can I introduce to my 48 year old mother to keep her busy?
My mother suffers from manic depression and adult ADD.She used to do scrap booking and I saw a huge difference in her personality during that time. I think it is due to the concentration on one task that keeps her from thinking so much on other "problems" she creates in her life.Any ideas for hobbies for a woman 48 years old? She is done with scrap booking because she basically did everything she could do with all our family pictures, and honestly, I think she got bored with it.
Answer:
I would suggest maybe joining a gym. I worked at a gym for four years and it was a great place to socially connect with others that live around your town. I am on depression medication and exercising and socializing is great to help treat it. I always feel better after I work out. It's kinda a two for one deal.
