Customer Review :
Cute addition.
Pokemon toy is actually larger than what I would expected for being only 5 inches... On its head is a thin, small loop of string where one could hang it as a ceiling decoration, or otherwise. If you don't like the string, simply cut it. It's all one string, so it all comes out with a simple snip (though it will leave nearly unnoticable small holes where you cut the string... that look kind of like spider bite marks, heh). I don't find them bothersome, though.
This particular Darkrai doesn't have any legs/appendages, which was fine by me. However, its underside has a certain flat "stool" so that the Darkrai can stand up. The edges of its body (the "skirt") hide this stool, so it is undetectable upon first glance (such as the picture given for this Pokemon above).
Overall, though, a very nice buy (though a tad pricey). Recommended for any Pokemon fan, from the casual to the hardcore.

Happy Pokemon Fan
This was a Christmas gift for my son. He's a huge Pokemon fan and absolutely loved it. Especially because it was from Japan, and it is one of the more unusual Pokemon stuffed characters. It's a great piece in his collection.

Question : Why do most plush toys say to "surface wash only"?
I understand when there are electrical components or some obvious thing that would break if submerged in water. But, why can't just a plain old stuffed toy be washed in the washing machine? I have to say I have gone against this advice a few times when the toy wasn't super important yet awfully dirty and they turned out just fine. Anyone know why this is recommended?
Answer:
I don't know why either. I throw all my daughter's stuffed animals in the washing machine, and they're always fine.

I just found this site that talks about why to do a surface wash, and why:

Question : Is Febreze safe on plush dog toys?
I made the mistake of putting a slobbered up plush toy in a plastic tote with the other toys and such when I moved and now everything stinks. I tried washing them and hanging them outside but it didn't work. Obviously I would let it dry completely before letting my dog play with it, but it would still be in their mouth. What do you think?
Answer:
I would not Febreeze the dog toy. Try adding baking soda to the wash as it may take the smell out and then hang it out or lay it out to dry in the sun. The sun is a good helper to get rid of smells. Worth a try. I have done it before with some of my beagle toys and its worked on some and others I just had to throw away and replace.

Question : Where can I purchase solid color fabrics used to make plush toys?
I was thinking about creating a plush Tux as detailed on http://www.free-penguin.org/ , but I don't have a source of textiles. Where would be the best place to get this type of fabric?
Answer:
Check crafts stores near where you live like "Michael's" or "Hobby Lobby". My mom goes to those places a lot of times. She knits.

Question : How to sanitize soft/plush toys?
My 4 month old son has several soft/plush toys with noise makers inside that would get ruined if I ran the toy through the wash--so how can I sanitize that type of toy?

Question : How do I clean my child's soft plush toys?
I have a 2 year old girl and a baby on the way. I want to wash my daughter's soft toys so that they are clean for the baby. Most of them say on label "surface washable only". Do you think I could still put them in the washing machine on gentle cycle? A friend thinks this will be ok if I put them in pillowcases first. Has anyone else done this? Do you have any other suggestions for cleaning them?
Answer:
I have washed them before...just make sure you extract the water out really well (put it on a regular spin cycle rather than the 'gentle' spin cycle)... then I hang them up to dry.
Good luck!

Question : Are there some kind of insects or larvae (or eggs) that make their home in the stuffing of cheap plush toys?
A cousin of mine sells for a novelty toy company. One of her perspective clients noticed some dark granules in the folds of one of her plush toys and stated, "These are eggs." When my cousin asked what she meant, she told her it was common to find them in the stuffing of toys made in Asia, especially China, that it was a sign of a cheaply made toy and that they "were harmless". My cousin took her concern to her manager, but was given no answer. Is this statement about "eggs" true? If so, what kind of eggs are they? Do I need to go through my son's toys and look for these eggs?
Answer:
Boweavils. Mites. A variety of bugs that nest!
