Great Little Tea Set (even for boys)

This tea set is wonderful! We searched high and low for something less girly but still durable and safe and this seemed to be about as good as it got. Of course, as the parent of a boy my only wish is that this were offered in more gender neutral colors as well: creams/browns, greens/yellows, etc. But, a little pink never hurt anyone. Our son loves to use this in the bath, at night before bed, with his kitchen set, etc. A great purchase and I would be shocked if he ever managed to break this or injure himself on it. We're really happy with it.

Great Tea Set

I was looking for a tea set for my two year old, and I was so happy to find this one. I bought it because I wanted something safe, durable, and cute. I do wish it has a tray with it to put the plates, cups, and teapot on, but I went ahead and bought it due to the fact that it was made of recycled products. She does love it, and it has given her something to do pretend play with. I love the cute pastel colors too.

Cute and fun

I bought this tea set for my niece and at first it was a big hit, but then it lost it's appeal. She is only two, maybe we'll have to wait until she's a little older. I like the colors and it seems very well made.

Eco-Friendly Update of a Classic Toy Every Little Girl Needs

This tea set is perfect for little girls. It's cheerful and fun and will inspire a great deal of imaginary play. Well made from recycled materials, you will rest easy if your little girl serves you tea, water or dessert from one of her little dishes. The packaging was simple, without ridiculous ties and lots of little things to throw away, something every parent, especially the environmentally conscious, will appreciate. Best for ages 2-6.

Lots of fun

This was a gift for our two year old grandaughter. She already has the Melissa and Doug Pizza set and was excited to get the birthday cake set. The pizza set has had real "staying power" and is one of her favorite kitchen toys. When her male cousins visit, they enjoy the pizza set, too. I expect that the cake set will be just as much fun.
I rated this high on educational value because the set lends itself to many sorting and matching activities. The children enjoy taking "orders" and then making custom cakes and pizzas. It could easily be used to introduce the idea of fractions, although we have not played with it with that in mind.
I am impressed with the quality of these toys.

Brings out the creative best in a child

My daughter loves this toy. She decorates it on her own with her favourite accessories. She loves it. A must have toy for every girl.

Great idea, too many little pieces

My 2 yr old got this as a birthday gift since friends knew she would be getting a kitchen for Christmas. It is:
~ very durable
~ adorable
~ fun to play with
~ great gift

What my gripes are:
~ Toooooo many little pieces! Candles, and wooden circle to stick on the cake. I put most of them away for now, maybe later it will be fun and not just messy.
~ You can't take a slice out without ruing the cake . . . very frustrating for my toddler.

Would I buy it for someone else? Probably.

Imaginative Fun

My 3 year old twin girls use this for "parties" with their dolls and stuffed animals. The different toppings allow for lots of different cakes. The parts are very durable and the storage container allows for a nice neat pick-up. Not a very educational toy but it is still a winner due to social play it encourages.

nice toy

amazon shipping as promised by xmas :)
Got this for my 2 yr old since she loves to sing happy birthday, thought she'd love the toy... well she likes it... that's her tho, not the toy. It's nice to see a wooden toy instead of cheap plastic. I wish it had some kind of case instead of the open top box, lots of peices we're trying to keep together. Nice toy, I'd recommend it.

The entire pieces feature Velcro inserts, so keeping sandwich creations together is no problem. A play wooden knife rounds out the collection. The kit comes packaged in a 12" X 10" wooden crate. Customer Review :

Niece and Nephew love fest!

My sister recommended getting them something from this brand for xmas because my niece got the cupcake set for her birthday a month before and they played with it constantly. They didn't have the toy she originally wanted so I went with the sandwich kit. I come from a big family so they received around 7 packages of toys that night and they wouldn't stop playing with the sandwich kit even long enough to open the other presents! It's a simple toy but they can't get enough. My niece is 3 and my nephew will be 2 years old in a month. Highly recommend!

Perfect first food playset for toddler

I wanted to buy my 18 month old son a set of durable & safe play food for his new little kitchen. This set has been perfect! He loves playing with the different veggie toppings (esp the pickles) and cutting apart the "velcro sandwich." Very durable & show no signs of wear after over a month of daily rough-play.

Rating :

Cute, high quality

This set is adorable. My 3 yr. old loves it. High quality wood pieces. The box that it comes in is actually the 'storage' box for it, also made of wood, so you have a place to put all the pieces. I just wish it had a lid to it..

Wish It Were Made in the USA

This is a wonderful toy to go along with all the kitchen stuff little girls (and boys) like to play with. It is entertaining for parents as well! I just wish we could manufacture great toys like this in the United States. Where have all the toymakers gone?

Rating :

Great toy!

Like all Melissa and Doug wooden food and kitchen, this Sandwich set is terrific. It was a Christmas gift for my now 21mo old granddaughter who absolutely loves it. The pieces have Velcro on them so they can be stacked into a wooden sandwich. She also loves the birthday cake set. The individual slices of cake, candles, and toppings have Velcro, too. The pieces in both these sets are almost indestructible and stay colorful. It has helped her in both vocabulary development and imaginative play.

Great Durable Toys for Tots

I LOVE Melissa and Doug everything! I got this set for my almost 2 year old daughter and she loves it so much!
We store them in her play kitchen. It's colorfully painted and comes in wooden crates for easy storage. I love how this set represents the four food groups and my daughter can identify a lot of the foods already! When ever she wants banana for instance, she brings me the banana and shouts "Nana!!" I find these little guys everywhere in the house. Especially when I'm cooking! She'll be a little cooker soon enough! I'm so happy to have these toys for her wooden collection. By far one of our best purchases for the baby girl!

Food Groups

The Melissa and Doug food group set was a big hit with my two year old niece this Christmas. She plays with the food regularly at her kitchen and even loves to use the mini wooden crates in her pretending. I definitely think the look of the wood food is so much nicer than a lot of the plastic options out there.

Rating :

Great, wooden food for play kitchen

My 21 mth old daughter LOVES her Melissa and Doug wooden food groups. She plays with them all the time. They are very durable, colorful, and realistic.
My only complaint would be that they are really loud when she throws them on the hardwood floors but all wooden toys do that.

Rating :

Awesome Foods!

These are just adorable. I love the little crates, and it does help to keep everything organized. I just wish that they had a replacement policy for a single item. We lost the stick of butter at a hotel. It was unknowingly packed. The designs on the food are appropriate, and creative. They are just the right size. These are made in china, which I thought Melissa and Doug did Mfg in the US, BUT these are well made. I would have rather had them made in the US, but they seem just fine.

fantastic

My granddaughter could not open this present fast enough. She immediately had us rip open the plastic wrap and proceeded to play with it,ignoring all of her other Christmas presents.

It is always hard to tell from a small picture what a toy will be like. This product is very well made. My son has fixed everybody's "owies" many times over. He received it for Christmas and he has used it several times every day since. I would deffinitley recommend it.

Great doctor kit

I bought this for my 3 year old son for Christmas who told me he wants to be a doctor. He has had lots of fun playing with all of the different doctor items. The working pager and cell phone are great, although my 12 month old somehow messed up the phone (it kept making a constant, loud noise and we had to remove the batteries). The toys are durable and have held up to the playing. The hard plastic container is great as everything fits right back in it for easy pick up. The working stethoscope was a big hit, as well as the thermometer. I would recommend this toy for purchase.

Made a 6 1/2 year old happy

My daughter really enjoyed this set and set to work immediately with the included glasses perched on her nose and brandishing a stethoscope. The quality of the pieces is decent with batteries included (surprisingly) in the beeper and the stethoscope. The blood pressure gauge spins when the bulb is squeezed and the cuff is sized right for a small bicep. The stethoscope makes coughing sounds when pressed and the beeper beeps with an emergency light displaying. There is a syringe whose plunger works but in a safe fashion and then a couple of surgical tools. This toy is more than adequate for a safe medical make believe between little friends and has enough variety of items to sustain an extended role play. The box that contains everything is pretty sturdy and has solid catches to keep it closed. At the current price point of $18+, it is a reasonable buy.

Fun for a little one.

Got this kit for my seven year old daughter and she has a ball with it. I have a ball watching her play different "wacky" doctors with it. She's a card anyway and this is a great product for that kind of personality and imagination. The instruments are pretty durable. It was worth the money to me.

Question : What is up with the schools breaking up people dirty dancing?
At my school dance last night they broke up people not dancing face to face at a one foot length. So I was in a grind with my girlfriend and she some teacher comes up and breaks it up, then takes pictures of us dirty dancing. Why do the schools care how people dance? Because if the kids had a problem with it they wouldn't do it.Btw, I am a sophomore.

Answer:
because they think it encourages you know and they just don't want anyone to get any ideas

Question : How do you speed up a slow person?
There is a friend of mine who is generally slow (runs slow, writes slow, plays soccer slow, moves slow when organizing the office). Surprisingly he looks very athletic, with muscles and all. Is there a way to speed him up? I do know from growing up with him that from the time he was a kid, up to the present time he has managed to avoid physical activities (like basketball, playing with other kids, football, just running around, also avoided sports in high school). Is there a surefire way of gradually getting his speed to catch up with his physique? This is presumably a good area for physical therapists but if you have an idea of a technical/structured way to speed him up lease feel free to chime in. The slowness might eventually affect his thinking speed.Need to add that this is an incredibly intelligent person with an above average I.Q.

Answer:
Use reverse psychology

Question : What make up brush gets used for what type of make up?
Im new to make up so i was hopeing for a bit of help. Is anyone able to tell me what size and shap make up brushes i should use with the different make up products. Like what type of make up brush for your foundation, what type/size for the blush. What do you uses to put eye shadow on with.

Answer:
there are a ton of brush sizes and shapes, but mostly, you want simply, just soft burshes that you can angle with for eyes, for blush, you want a brush that is rounded, because it smoothes and blends makeup way easier. for more on eyes, you want not too big, but bigger brushes for the larger areas, smaller ones for the blending of the eyeshadow. its not very difficult, but if it is for you, maybe you should try techniques with the brush styles, but dont wear them unless you really like them. and if you want someone maybe to guide you, try talking to a friend and asking them to help you out a little. hope that helps a little more. :)

Question : What wiring hook up for brake lights does a travel trailer from the 70s typically have?
I just bought a 17 foot Monitor 2 travel trailer from 1975, and I am having wiring hooked up to a hitch tomorrow. I will not have time to inspect the trailer until saturday (it is a good distance from where i live), when I have to pick it up. In the 1970s, was there one general type of wire hook up I can count on being the correct wiring hook up, or do I really need to inspect the end of the trailer's wiring before hand? Thanks!

Answer:
If you are trying to wire plug like the old days to a new truck , will not work . There is an adapter relay you will need . The trailer is on a typical 4 wire system and newer trucks are on 7 .

Question : How do I set up a simple library for my local community center?
I wanted to open up a library at my local community center of just a few 100 books and hopefully increase that. I have no idea how to set up a library or how to catalog them. Can anyone suggest a program as I can set up a laptop if need be or maybe a website that would help me in setting up the library. Thank you.

Answer:
I would recommend a website because that way you'd actually, at some point, be able to go and let others use the archives.Anyhow, you could use a content management system (CMS), which is equally useful, but you'll need to learn a bit of it.However, a database should also help you archive stuff, and if you're looking for an easy to use, free database, try downloading the link given in the sources.

Question : How do I set up a network between a Windows XP desktop & a Windows Vista Basic notebook?
I can access the internet through both computers but I can't access one computer from the other. They don't show up on the other computer. The desktop running XP is wired through a wireless router. The notebook running Vista Basic uses a wireless connection. The help I've read seems to apply only if both computers are using the same edition of Windows. I might be missing the obvious step here so could someone please point it out for me? BTW, the notebook picked up the router and set up a network for internet access immediately. The desktop had to be reset before it picked everything up. The router is a dlink. ISP is road runner with time warner if that makes a difference. Thanks a lot for any assistance.

Answer:
- Both computers should have same work group name. - enable file sharing on both of them.disable any anti-virus or firewall on both the pcs and then try to connect them.follow the steps mentioned in this MS page:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/evaluate/vista_fp.mspxYou may also have to install this update on your Windows XP desktop to let it understand windows vista networking protocols:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=4F01A31D-EE46-481E-BA11-37F485FA3 4EA

Question : I set up a wireless network and now it is showing up with multiple listings?
When I search for a network, the network I set up is listed several times. It will be listed as network, network2, network3. I only set up the network once. Is this a problem? Is it some sort of security risk? The network is hidden and security enabled. I am not that computer savvy and was concerned that these variations on my network have appeared. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:
This happened to me a few years back - turns out it was the neighbor's kid trying to hack my network by using the same SSID. His network wasn't secured, so I logged in to his router and reset the SSID to something rude. Problem solved.

Question : Why is my cat throwing up bloody liquid several times a day? How can i make him stop thowing up?
All day today my cat has been throwing up. First, it started with a regular yellow like liquid and after several times he started throwing up bloody looking liquid several times. Normally, he's a very active and loves attention but now he stays in a little corner, hides, does not want to be pet and cries before he throws up. He does not want to drink or eat anything. He only wants to be left alone. He's a 10 year old cat but overall he's in great shape and health.

Answer:

Question : How should I set up a treasure hunt for a large group of young children in a library and parking lot?
I'll be setting up a treasure hunt to start off a party at my local library. In past years, around 50 or more children have come to the party so I should expect the same number (maybe even more). The children range in age from 5 up to 10 (although I was planning that the really young children would get help from their parents). The hunt will be set up in the library parking lot (which is pretty big) and in the children's section of the library. The only problem is, I'm not really sure how to set it up! Should the children work in groups or should they work alone? Should they have to carry a sheet and maybe pick up a sticker at each clue to make sure they go to each clue? Should a library volunteer be at each clue to read the clue to the children or should the children read the clues themselves?Any ideas or help would be amazing :)

Answer:
If you are going to have people showing up at different times, maybe you should consider just a generic hunt instead of a treasure hunt? Hide a bunch of little themed toys... like little dinosaurs or even cards with pictures. Tell them they can redeem 3 for a prize and send them off as they come in. If you would like to go with the treasure hunt, maybe divide it between the little ones that can't read and the older ones that can. For the younger ones give them a "map" with a picture story and a picture of the location of the first clue. At that clue have another part of the story and a picture of the 2nd place they need to go... etc... We did this with the 4-6 crowd and it was a hit... no "reading" required and they are doing it themselves. At the end they would tell us the 'story'- either as individuals or group (go with the flow for this group) and it would connect to the theme and what comes next. For the older ones regular written clues should work fine.I don't know that you really need to do the sticker at each clue so much as at the end. You'll know at the end when they "tell" you the story... but it's all about fun, so as long as they are trying I wouldn't really worry if they miss one or just send them back to try again. If you do it this way, you will have to have some sort of props around the parking lot to send them around. I would also have the volunteers just float- some kids they may need to walk around with but most they can just sort of watch out for as they reach the stations.Good luck :)

Question : How do we keep up on the household chores during the busy work week?
My boyfriend and I work full time jobs and when we get home we are too tired to clean up. Now the dishes get pilled up and the trash doesn't get taken out. We end up arguing over who's too tired to do it. How do you keep up on the chores during the busy work week? We also have a 7 yr old son that could help out too. What are some easy things he could do?

Answer:
*Do a little each day.*Assign jobs among the household. Find agreement.*Use a schedule. Consider setting aside a time each day for cleaning, e.g., after the news.*Use a card file--a different job on each card/pull one at random for each day of the week. Mix it up!*Buy a dishwasher.*Buy pleasant/custom cleaners (scented not perfumed) so that cleaning is more enjoyable. Buy non-toxic cleaners.*Have all the cleaners and cleaning implements on hand that you need.*Be more organized/eliminate clutter. Use containers for toys, books, caddies in the kitchen, etc.*Consider hiring a house cleaner.
